What PDF2Wordly does
PDF files are great for sharing — they look the same everywhere — but they are hard to edit. PDF2Wordly solves that one problem: upload a PDF and get back a standard .docx file with editable text that keeps the original layout as closely as possible. The whole conversion happens through your browser in three steps: upload, convert, download. See the step-by-step guide for details.
Who it is for
Anyone who receives a PDF they need to change: students editing lecture notes, job seekers tailoring a resume for an application portal, office staff updating tables, invoices, or reports, and people working from a phone or a Mac with nothing installed (see converting on Mac and mobile). If your PDF is a scan rather than real text, the built-in OCR reads the page image and rebuilds it as editable text.
Key features
Free conversion. Converting is free, with a daily limit for free accounts and a 25 MB per-file size limit. Pro ($2.99/month) removes the daily limit and supports larger files. Formatting preservation. Fonts, layout, tables, and images are carried over as closely as the source allows — read what converts cleanly and what may need a touch-up. Scanned PDFs. Image-only PDFs are handled with OCR in English, French, and Arabic. Works everywhere. Any modern desktop or mobile browser; nothing to install.
Privacy by design
Files travel over an encrypted connection, are never made publicly accessible, and temporary files are deleted automatically once conversion finishes. Uploads are validated before processing, and password-protected PDFs must be unlocked by their owner before uploading — the service cannot and does not bypass encryption.
